In Science class I decided to make a Newspaper article about Alfred Wegener Continental Drift theory. I chose to do a newspaper article because I could explain each different category; Alfred Wegener's theory, Evidence and Sea floor spreading. I decided to do a newspaper article because it was a lot easier then a short story, rap, interview and video. We made a drawing to explain the different earth layers. This could help us understand how Wegener pointed out the continents drifting.
I learnt that the continents weren't always the same as it is today. Alfred tried to prove to all the scientist and others that the continents were once joined together then later on slowly started to split apart. He got all his evidence and got Harry Hess to help him map the each continents. He also notice that each of the continents could fit together exactly the same as if it was a jig-saw puzzle and they had the same exact kind of species. Also rocks, mountains and climate were discovered. Harry Hess noticed that the seafloor was spreading. Seafloor spreading takes place at midocean ridges and produces basalt, the rocks makes up the Oceanic crust. Seafloor spreading can help explain the continental drift, how seafloor spreading makes the continents drift apart.
